Etsy

If you're someone that likes to buy unique, one of a kind, handmade items; or you're just tired of buying mass produced products from companies like Wal-Mart, then Etsy.com is a site that you must check out.

I found out about Etsy late last year when I searched "handmade" on google, and the first site that popped up was exactly what I was looking for. It was love at first click! I was just amazed at how many talented people are on Etsy, offering their quality handmade product, and from time to time I would just find some items that are simply amazing! I don't know how I did it, but I'm very proud of myself that I haven't blew our rent money on all the things that I want to buy.

So after months of browsing through this amazing site, I decided that I will open shop and introduce the silk wrapped flowers I make to the world of etsy.

My boyfriend was the one that came up with the name "It Really Adds Something!" after he jokingly said that the gold tinsel that I use in my flowers "really adds something". Ever since then, if we see or eat something that compliments the other thing, like when we have calamari and the sauce makes it better, we would go "it really adds something!" and burst into laughter like two stupid, silly teenagers, only we're grown ups now, so sometimes we get some strange looks from people around us (you might have been one of them ^_^ ).

Other than the silk thread wrapped flowers, I am also slowly adding on other items in my shop as I go through creative phases or as I call it, creator's block from time to time; when I'm a little burned out on making one type of item, I'll switch to one of the other things that I like to make and give myself a little brake while still crafting. As of right now, I'm in my origami phase, and the origami ball ornament to the left is a current favorite in my store.

So if any of this sounds interesting to you, come check out Etsy.com and my shop . I'm sure you'll find a lot great things on Etsy that you'll like, and you might just join in on the handmade craze.
